Since 1902, Goodwill has been collecting and reselling household goods in order to fund extensive job training programs and related
services. Each year, our programs benefit thousands of people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Here's how your
donation helps:
1. You donate to Goodwill - things like clothes, household goods, furniture or dollars.
2.
Your donated items are processed for resale by Goodwill employees, many of whom have disabilities or other disadvantages.
3.
Your donation is sold in a Goodwill retail store. Our stores provide real jobs and job training to people with disabilities and disadvantages.
4. Goodwill store revenues support community-based education, employment and training programs.
5.
Graduates of Goodwill training programs find jobs and come to know the thrill of personal empowerment--the satisfaction that comes
with earning a paycheck. Their employers, in turn, receive skilled, trained, dedicated workers.
6. With Goodwill's
help, local communities prosper. People once reliant on government assistance (taxpayer dollars) become taxpayers themselves and contribute
to the economic vitality of their communities.
Before giving your gently used goods, ask yourself if you would give it to a relative or friend. Our shoppers are looking for quality
second-hand good, and disposing of items we can't sell costs a lot of money. Every dollar we spend disposing of unusable donations
is a dollar we cannot spend on our services to the community.
At Goodwill, we accept all sorts of things such as:
