Since 1902, Goodwill has been recycling and reusing donated items. Items that don't pass our quality standards, and items
that are returned un-sold from our stores are combined and sold by the pound to other users. In 2007 we recycled
757,054 lbs. of textiles,
83,864 lbs. of shoes,
125,635 lbs. of electronics,
98,811 lbs. of shoes
19.842 lbs. textiles to wiper rags
That totals almost 1.1 million pounds of items recycled, reused and kept out of our communties'
land fills.
Goodwill has two electronic recycling collection
centers
158 Tyler St., Pittsfield MA and
160 Howland Ave., Adams MA.
We palletize and transfer your computer
monitors and televisions to a recycler that has been qualified by
the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. You can be
sure that your recyclable electronic items are legitimately broken
down with removal of hazardous materials.
